Dr. Falko Paetzold

Falko Paetzold worked with the ETH Zurich Chair of Sustainability and Technology since 2011 on research and the development and teaching of courses and modules on sustainable entrepreneurship and sustainable investing. He is a fellow with the Initiative for Responsible Investment at Harvard University, where he co-runs a research and capacity building program for private wealth holders in the context of impact investing. Since 2016 he also works on impact investing research and teaching formats at MIT Sloan School of Management.

He completed his doctoral studies with the University of Zurich Department of Banking and Finance. His research explores cognitive aspects and barriers in the decision-making process of wealthy private investors and their advisors in the context of sustainable investing and impact investing.

Falko also advises investment firms on sustainable investing strategy and implementation aspects, and is the founder and president of GreenBuzz, a network of sustainability professionals, particularly sustainability intra-preneurs, with chapters in various cities.

Following work in supply chain management and labour relations in Europe, North America and Asia, Falko spent four years as Senior Sustainability Analyst and Inhouse Consultant at Bank Vontobel AG in Zurich, focusing on sustainable investing processes, M&A and Group strategy.
