Severin Hegelbach conducted his master's thesis at Prof. Volker Hoffmann’s Chair of Sustainability and Technology at ETH Zurich in 2011. In his Masters Thesis he assessed determinants of firm innovation strategies in the field of photovoltaic power (PV).

He holds a Bachelors degree in Environmental Sciences from ETH Zurich. During his studies he participated in the TA-Swiss study Future Perspectives of 2nd Generation Biofuels. In 2010, he attended the first Climate-KIC Summer School on entrepreneurship in climate change, during which he spent time at École Polytechnique in Paris and at Imperial College in London.

He gained practical experience during an internship at Siemens Building Technologies in Zug, working on energy efficiency in buildings, and also during his work for Credit Suisse Private Advisors AG.

Currently he is accomplishing his Master degree in Environmental Sciences from ETH Zurich with a major in Human-Environment Systems and a minor in Renewable Energy Use.
