Jeroen Buunk joined the Group of Sustainability and Technology in August 2015 as an exchange student from Utrecht University. In his master’s thesis, he analysed the organisational discourse on the integration of renewables focusing on the tension between centralised and decentralised approaches.

Jeroen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Innovation Management from Utrecht University. He took part in the Master’s program Energy Science at Utrecht University focussing on both economic and technical aspects of (renewable) energy generation and supply. Furthermore, he is enrolled in the European Climate-KIC master programme which stimulates entrepreneurial thinking around climate change related issues.

As part of this programme, Jeroen did an internship at ETH spin-off greenTEG in Zürich during the spring of 2015. He pursued and evaluated new business opportunities for a radiation sensor in the building sector. Further, he worked for the Dutch start-up Triogen as market analyst for large-scale ORCs and was involved in a project around circular economy of the Dutch ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment.
