Hendrik holds a M.Sc. in Energy Science and Technology from ETH Zurich, Switzerland as well as a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. During his studies, he spent semesters for exchange studies at KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden and ETH Zurich, Switzerland and conducted four months of graduate research at the Institute for Data, Systems and Society (IDSS) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA. Prior to his M.Sc., he worked for BASF’s business development in Hong Kong and with The Boston Consulting Group on a change project at a German energy utility.

He is a recipient of a scholarship by the German National Academic Foundation and was awarded the Willi Studer Prize 2018 for his master studies as well as the ETH Medal for his master’s thesis. For his exchange studies and research projects, Hendrik was supported by the Dr. Peter Schaefer Scholarship for Sustainable Development and the Climate-KIC Master’s Label.
