AnastasiosNodaras

Anastasios Nodaras wrote his master’s thesis at the Group for Sustainability and Technology in 2018. In his thesis, he investigated the circular reconfiguration of the value chain for a specific case of plastic packaging.

Anastasios holds a Diploma (integrated B.Sc. and M.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering at University of Patras (Greece). In his diploma thesis, he explored the evolution of air pollution in Greece, studying the chemical composition and concentration of atmospheric particles PM2.5. He continued his studies at Eindhoven University of Technology (the Netherlands), where he obtained his Professional Doctorate in Engineering in the field of Process and Product Engineering. His research focused on the design and economic evaluation of the downstream process in the production of levulinic acid based on biomass instead of conventional fossil feedstock. This key building block chemical can be used for material production such as polyurethanes and polyamides. These types of chemicals are used in a number of applications from car parts to nylon stockings.

Anastasios worked as Chemical/Process Engineer for Motor Oil Refineries (Greece), Royal DSM (the Netherlands), and Shell Global (the Netherlands). He also conducted an internship at Johnson & Johnson (Switzerland).
