SusTec at the International Sustainability Conference, Utrecht

This August a group of SusTec members presented their research at the International Sustainability Conference in Utrecht.

From August 30th to September 1st, members of the SusTec team participated in the Download14th International Sustainability Transitions Conference 2023.
After giving the opening speech of the conference, Jochen Markard, chair of DownloadSTRN, shared ongoing research on multi-system transitions together with collaborators from Downloadeawag.

Sophie Führer presented ongoing research (co-authored by Christof Knoeri), focusing on the revival of circular practices in construction during a session chaired by Denise Reike.

Alberto Arcà took the stage to discuss his research on technological advancements in automotive plastic recycling (co-authored by Catharina Bening).

Alejandro Nuñez-Jimenez delved into the critical role of energy modeling in guiding energy transitions during times of crisis. He also presented another study in progress that investigates how demand pull and technology push for electric vehicles technologies shape innovation strategies of internal combustion engine carmakers--research led by collaborators at the University of Oldenburg.

David Pfeffer presented ongoing research on how the EU policy mix governing the circular plastics transitions affects different actors of the supply chain (co-authored by Denise Reike and Catharina Bening).

SusTec Alumnus Inese Zepa contributed to a session addressing security and geopolitics within the context of sustainability transitions.
