Alberto Arcà

Alberto joined Prof. Volker Hoffmann's Group for Sustainability and Technology in May 2022 as a PhD candidate on plastics recycling and circular economy. He studied Sustainability Science and Policy at DownloadMaastricht Universityvertical_align_bottom (Netherlands) and DownloadSan Diego State Universityvertical_align_bottom (U.S.). During his studies, he focused on environmental policy, sustainability innovation and circular economy solutions. In his master thesis, Alberto developed a model to analyse how stakeholders’ frames are shaping biomethane development in Emilia Romagna.

Prior to joining SusTec, Alberto worked at DownloadFederchimicavertical_align_bottom as a regulatory affairs officer focusing on legislative and policy developments concerning plastics and primary chemical products both at EU and national level. Furthermore, he also worked as Policy and Sustainability Consultant for the Zurich-based startup, DownloadSOLCollabvertical_align_bottom, focusing on the climate risk analysis of agri-food companies.

In his spare time, Alberto enjoys hiking, playing soccer and theatre acting.
