Launch of phase II of NCCR Catalysis

The launch of phase II of the NCCR (National Competence Center of Research) Catalysis was celebrated at the Paul-Klee-Zentrum in Bern. We are happy to join phase II to accelerate the efforts towards safe and sustainable chemistry in circular value chains.

The NCCR Catalysis is jointly led by ETH Zurich and EPFL. By examining the entire chemical value chain in a multidimensional and cross-disciplinary approach, the NCCR Catalysis disentangles the complexities of chemical processes across various domains. A key objective of NCCR Catalysis is to foster the development of carbon-neutral value chains by harnessing renewable resources through catalytic processes, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change and embrace circular economy principles. The event took place at Paul-Klee Zentrum in Bern, where Dr. Catharina Bening & Ricarda Fieber gathered with project partners Dr. Zhanyun Wang, Dr. Dachuan Zhang and many others. While enjoying delicious vegan catering, Catharina and Ricarda engaged in discussions with NCCR Catalysis members across multiple research domains, exchanging current research activities and exploring future collaboration potential.

Through collaborative research efforts and standardized methodologies, NCCR Catalysis is dedicated to advancing solutions that enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and economic viability of chemical processes across diverse industries. This is also the focal point for our group in this NCCR: Understanding how technological advancements to deliver tangible benefits to human health and society can be leveraged, all while upholding environmental responsibility.
