New article on „Building decarbonization“ published by Journal of Cleaner Production
A new article entitled “Innovative Designs of Building Energy Codes and their Implementation Challenges” has been accepted for publication by the “Journal of Cleaner Production”. The article is authored by Marius Schwarz, Christina Nakhle, and Christof Knoeri (all SusTec).
In the article, the authors investigate how innovative designs of building energy codes advance building decarbonization and which challenges policymakers face when implementing these designs. Based on 19 interviews with practitioners, regulators, and researchers, the study evaluates innovative building energy codes of six countries (Denmark, France, England, Switzerland, and Sweden). Synthesizing insights across the countries, the authors derive six policy principles for advancing the development and implementation of building energy codes.
