14 SusTec students and researchers successfully finished the 46th edition of the famous DownloadSOLA relay race in and around Zurich. Showing a great team performance, SusTec runners managed to complete the challenging course, defying wind and rain, in 10h05min resulting in a 472th overall rank out of almost 1000 teams. As part of the tradition, this success was celebrated afterwards.

But it’s not only about athletic performance; SusTec turns 15 in 2019 and team members, students, friends and family gathered to look back at over a decade of shared research experience. 15 years ago, SusTec started pretty much as a one-man show. Today, the team counts 25 members. >100 MSc students graduated from the Group, 27 PhDs and 5 professors are SusTec home grow. SusTec ideas are spread across many academic journals and since 2 years SusTec also specifically strengthens its real world impact with external pagesus.lab that does collaborative project work with firms and other organizations.

15years
Together with the team, Monica Heinz, Prof. Konrad Hungerbühler (Prof. Hoffmann’s former PhD supervisor) and Prof. Volker Hoffmann celebrate 15 years of SusTec.

We are immensely happy and proud to be where we are today and thank everybody who contributed. And the best is yet to come…
