On Thursday (7/3/2019) Prof. Dr. Daniel Hall (Institute of Construction & Infrastructure Management , Chair for Innovative and Industrial Construction) will talk about innovation in the built environment and how new forms of process, organization, and information can integrate the supply chain of the vertically, horizontally, and longitudinally fragmented construction industry.

About the speaker:

Dr. Hall holds a Doctor of Philosophy (2017) in Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) from Stanford University. He conducted his research with the Global Projects Center. His dissertation investigated the development and institutionalization of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) in North America, and the associated impact of IPD on the adoption of systemic product and process innovations. While at Stanford, Dr. Hall was awarded the Charles H. Leavell Fellowship for Civil Engineering in addition to research funding for three projects from the Center for Integrated Facility Engineering. In addition, Dr. Hall is the founder and lead organizer of the annual Stanford Industrialized Construction Forum since 2014. He has been a visiting PhD scholar with the Centre for Systems Engineering and Innovation at Imperial College London in 2016, and he participated in the Stanford / UC Berkeley Scholar Exchange Program to complete additional study of lean construction in 2015. Dr. Hall was a project team member (2013) and project team co-leader (2014) for the Parkwood Primary School Technology Centre Renovation in Cape Town, South Africa which was awarded the Malcolm Lewis IMPACT! Award from the U.S. Green Building Council.
