SusTec welcomes Karoliina Isoaho from Helsinki

Karoliina joins our group as a visiting scholar to work with Jochen Markard on industry decline in the energy transition.

Karoliina is a final year PhD candidate at the University of Helsinki. She holds an MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Modern Languages and European Studies from the University of Southampton. Prior to her PhD, Karoliina gained research experience at the Potsdam Institute of Climate Impact Research, the Grantham Reseach Institute for Climate Change and the Environment and at the UNU-WIDER. Her current research interest lie within using mixed-methods research to study the politics of sustainability transitions. Her earlier work investigated climate adaptation in the private sector and energy policy in China.
