SusTec welcomes Jakob Pruess as new PhD student
Jakob joins the TACLE project (NFP 73) as a PhD student. He will investigate circular economy policies, in particular how policy framework conditions such as regulations affect innovative activities of firms towards a closed-loop economy.
Previously, he worked for almost three years as a Junior Economist/Policy Analyst at the OECD’s DownloadDirectorate for Science, Technology and Innovationvertical_align_bottom and the DownloadCentre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Citiesvertical_align_bottom in Paris, France. He was part of a research group, responsible for the production of the biennial DownloadSTI Outlookvertical_align_bottom. It informs policy makers on recent developments and possible future shifts in global science, technology and innovation patterns and their potential implications for national policies.
Jakob studied Economics, Business Administration and Political Science and holds degrees from DownloadUniversité Paris-Dauphinevertical_align_bottom (Diplôme de Grand Etablissement, eq. to M.Sc.), DownloadSciences Po Rennesvertical_align_bottom (Diplôme, eq. to M.A.) and the DownloadKU Eichstätt-Ingolstadtvertical_align_bottom (M.A., B.A.). He specialized in Environmental and Resource Economics and conducted his thesis on risk management and sustainable development on the Colombian oil market in cooperation with DownloadTrafiguravertical_align_bottom. During his studies, he gained practical experience as a Carlo Schmid Fellow at DownloadUNOPSvertical_align_bottom in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire and did an internship with the DownloadIsraeli-German Chamber of Industry and Commercevertical_align_bottom in Tel Aviv, Israel. He also worked as a research assistant for an institute of economic research in Halle (S.), Germany.
