Stephan Stollenwerk conducted his master's thesis Prof. Volker Hoffmann’s Chair of Sustainability and Technology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich 2012-2013. In his thesis he investigates the relationship between innovation activities and firms' or industry characteristics by analyzing patenting behavior in the context of storage technologies.
Stephan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University (Germany) and is now studying towards the Master of Science. In this context, Stephan spent an academic semester at the University of Auckland (New Zealand).
Besides his studies, Stephan gained practical experience in internships at Audi AG in Ingolstadt (Germany) and Centro Técnico de SEAT (Spain). During this studies, Stephan was a research assistant at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) as well as the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) at RWTH Aachen.
Stephan received scholarships from the federal government (Deutschland-Stipendium) and the state North-Rhine Westphalia (NRW Stipendium). His visiting research at ETH Zurich is supported by the IDEA League network.
