Dr. Timo Busch is guest editor: 'Sustainable Development and Financial Markets' in Business & Society CALL FOR PAPERS

The paper "Corporate carbon performance indicators: Carbon Intensity, Dependency, Exposure, and Risk" by V. Hoffmann and T. Busch has been chosen as the sample paper for the Journal of Industrial Ecology, Issue 12:4. It can now be downloaded free of charge here.

Julia Schwarzkopf began her doctorate studies at Prof. Hoffmann’s Chair of Sustainability and Technology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (ETH) in September 2007. Her research focuses on climate strategies for the automotive industry.


She studied Sociology at the University of Potsdam, Germany, with a specialization in environmental sociology and social structure analysis. In her diploma thesis, she analysed quality assurance problems in university teaching. Apart from her Master’s in Sociology (Diplom-Soziologin) Julia holds a Master of Environmental Sciences from the University of Hagen, Germany, where she focused on environmental management and environmental economics. During her studies, she was a scholar of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (1998-2001).


Julia Schwarzkopf was a scientific associate at the Institute for Climate Impact Research in Potsdam, Germany, for 3 years where she worked in the Department Global Change and Social Systems. Her work focused on national and international climate politics, environmental awareness and climate consciousness. Prior to becoming a doctoral student at SusTec, Julia worked as a freelance consultant for TheCompensators and the European Climate Forum, focussing on improving the European Emissions Trading Scheme and the EU-China dialog on climate change. She was associate lecturer at the University of Potsdam, Germany, Faculty of Economic and Social Science, where she taught courses in Environmental Sociology and Social Structure Analysis. She was also a associate lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Eberswalde, Germany, Faculty of Forestry, where she taught social science methods in the International Forest and Ecosystem Management program.
