Siegfried Flohr conducted his master's thesis at Prof. Volker Hoffmann’s Chair of Sustainability and Technology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich 2011. In his thesis he evaluates the implication of uncertainties in the development of the electricity market for long term energy investments.

Siegfried studies Business Engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT, formerly University of Karlsruhe). In the context of the European exchange program, he spent an academic year at the Universidad Politècnica de València (UPV), Spain.

He gained practical work experience in internships at Audi (Ingolstadt) and Bosch Siemens Hausgeräte (BSH) (Munich) and worked during his studies as a reasearch assistant for the Institut für Angewandte Informatik und Formale Beschreibungsverfahren (AIFB) at the KIT.
