Rüdiger Ohs

Rüdiger Ohs joined Prof. Volker Hoffmann’s Chair for Sustainability and Technology at ETH Zurich in November 2016. He studied how renewable energy policies influence the performance of electric utility companies. His master’s thesis was supported by an IDEA League research grant.

Rüdiger holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from RWTH Aachen University, where he specialized in process engineering (B. Sc.) and fluid and simulation technology (M. Sc.), respectively.  During his studies he became part of the dean’s list as reward for his outstanding academic achievements. Rüdiger spent one academic year at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim and visited Nanyang Technological University to conduct his bachelor’s thesis at the Singapore Membrane Technology Centre. After graduation, Rüdiger was a research associate at Aachener Verfahrenstechnik – Enzyme Process Technology. Currently, he is pursuing a master’s degree in economics at RWTH Aachen University.

During his studies, Rüdiger gained work experience as an intern at Süd-Chemie AG and as a student assistant at Aachener Verfahrenstechnik – Mechanical Process Engineering.
