Benedikt Deuchert stayed at SusTec as a Master student and student assistant from 2013 to 2014. In his Master thesis, Benedikt investigated the economic value of knowing in advance how much energy a building consumes. His research was based both on qualitative and quantitative analysis and was carried out in close collaboration with Siemens Building Technology and several utilities in the DACH-region.

Benedikt holds a Master of Science in Energy Science and Technology from ETH Zurich. In his studies, he focused on power markets as well as sustainability in the power sector. Throughout his studies he had held a scholarship from the German Academic Foundation.

Prior to his work at SusTec,Benedikt had worked as an intern at the BMW Technology Office in Mountain View, CA, where he investigated the feasibility of using electric car fleets for vehicle-to-grid services.

After leaving SusTec, Benedikt joined EnerNOC as a program manager for Demand Response programs with utilities in Austria and Switzerland.
