Alexander Langguth conducted his master's thesis at Prof. Volker Hoffmann’s chair of Sustainability and Technology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich 2013-2014. In his master thesis he investigated the diffusion barriers of energy efficient technologies in the EU-28 by analyzing national policy landscapes and the energy efficiency development in an empirical model. He currently supports the group on multiple research projects as research assistant.
Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science degree in International Management Studies from the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany and a Master of Science degree in Strategic Management at the HEC Lausanne, Switzerland. In this context, Alexander spent two academic semesters at the John-Molson School of Business in Montreal, Canada and the National Taiwan University in Taipei, Taiwan.
Prior to joining the SusTec, Alexander worked for Baxter Healthcare Inc. in Munich, Germany and McKinsey & Company in Zürich, Switzerland mainly across Pharmaceuticals and Insurance in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. During his studies, he supported the Department of Strategy, Globalization, and Society of the HEC Lausanne as research assistant on topics related to sustainability in the Canadian mining industry.
