Martin Lehmann was a guest researcher at the SusTec group from September to December 2006.

He holds a master degree in Environmental Engineering from Aalborg University and is currently finalising his PhD studies, carried out at the Department of Business Studies at Aalborg University. In his PhD, Martin has focused on Environmental Management and Public-Private-Academic Partnerships in the Danish and Thai contexts. His dissertation investigates in which ways networks and partnerships contribute to the dissemination of environmental knowledge, capacity and conceptual developments and understanding of sustainability problems and solutions.

Besides environmental management, his research interests include institutional and organisational change, especially as it relates to ecological modernisation and networks, as well as stakeholder and innovation systems theory. He is working within the broad framework of Sustainability and his current focus is on Sustainable Innovation Systems. He is currently also project coordinator for a new international master programme on Urban Quality.

Martin has since 1998 worked extensively within the framework of development research and education and has particpated as both project manager and researcher in various projects financed by DANCED, DANIDA and the EU. He has on several occasions worked long-term in Thailand and has an extensive contact network in that region, as well as, of course, in Denmark. Martin has also worked for CIRSEE (Centre International de Recherche Sur l’Eau et l’Environnement), part of Suez-Environnement.
