New Research Policy Paper on Knowledge Spillovers

Four researchers from SusTec and the Energy Politics Group (EPG) have examined determinants of knowledge spillovers within and across technologies.

They show that core technological knowledge and knowledge that is based on less diverse previous knowledge is likely to continue to flow within technological boundaries. Findings of this paper have important policy implications with regards to strengthening technological trajectories vs. creating technological variety.

Their findings are based on a statistical analysis of a data set of over 40,000 battery patents.
