The project was focusing on the opportunities and challenges arising from energy efficiency in buildings. In general, the energy sector is facing considerable challenges and major structural changes in the coming years. Buildings are a central element in this respect as they constitute major energy consumers. Energy efficiency in buildings and decentralised energy supply are therefore identified as a highly relevant issue. The research project examined the opportunities and challenges of technological innovations and regulatory changes for energy utilities and technology companies. The final workshop presented the findings and discussed them with the research partners. The research project resulted in several academic and professional publications and was driven by the SusTec Researchers Florian Nägele, Tillmann Lang, and Dr. Bastien Girod. The final report is available for download Downloadhere.
